Welcome

The Forest Academy works with the whole community in developing strong partnerships, which will provide support for all stakeholders and ensure a successful learning environment, which challenges, supports and inspires.

All our students are encouraged to achieve their full potential through common and shared purposes, agreed by consensus, commitment and celebrating achievement. Our students will receive the best learning opportunities and experiences through creating an ethos where students’ interests and their quality of learning are central to the school’s work and purpose. Our aim is to maximise achievement through personalised learning in a positive culture of respect and independence.

In May 2010, the then Hainault Forest High School went into special measures for the second time.  The five areas of focus that were identified as being most in need of improvement were; attainment, teaching and learning, behaviour, attendance and outcomes in the Sixth Form.  This judgement precipitated Beal High School’s involvement (Outstanding, Ofsted March 2011) with the school, firstly as a partnership and latterly as the sponsor of The Forest Academy since 1st January 2012.

The journey has been rapid and sustained, culminating in the Ofsted judgement of September of September 2013 of The Forest Academy being a Good school in all four categories.

“The Forest Academy has improved rapidly since it was opened”.

“There is a positive atmosphere in and around the school”.

“Parents are supportive of the school and feel it is a very safe place for their children to be”.

“Teaching is good with some that is outstanding”.

“Students are polite and courteous.  They enjoy it when the school has visitors and go out of their way to be welcoming and friendly”.

“Students feel that the school looks after them.  Several students commented that the school was the safest place to be”.

The biggest single change is that every decision is student-centred so that no child is left behind.”Teaching is good with some that is outstanding”.”Students are polite and courteous.  They enjoy it when the school has visitors and go out of their way to be welcoming and friendly”.
